These terms set the ground rules for using Hidden Here. Please read them before using the app or website.

01 / Agreement
These Terms of Use apply to the Hidden Here mobile app, website, and related services. By using Hidden Here, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
02 / Using Hidden Here
Hidden Here connects stories to real-world places. You may browse the map, receive nearby story notifications, read or listen to stories, and use other features made available in the app.
You may use the service only for personal, lawful purposes. You may not interfere with the service, attempt to bypass access controls, scrape or copy the story collection at scale, introduce harmful code, or use Hidden Here to violate another person’s rights.
03 / Accounts
Some features require an account. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your login credentials secure, and notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account.
04 / Location and notifications
Nearby results depend on location information from your device. Background Discovery may use location when the app is not open. You choose whether to grant these permissions and can change them in iOS Settings. You can still browse the map manually if location access is unavailable.
Story notifications depend on device permissions, connectivity, location accuracy, system settings, and story availability. We do not guarantee that a notification will arrive at a particular time or place.
05 / Stories and accuracy
Hidden Here works to create interesting, sourced stories tied to real places. Historical accounts, sources, addresses, map markers, and other details can still be incomplete, disputed, outdated, or inaccurate. The service is provided for general information and discovery, not as professional, navigational, legal, or emergency advice.
If you find an error or a story that needs more context, please use our support page to tell us.
06 / Safe and lawful use
Do not use Hidden Here in a way that distracts you while driving, cycling, or moving through traffic. Follow posted signs, property rules, closures, and local law. A story marker does not grant access to private property or restricted areas. Never trespass or enter an unsafe place to reach a story.
07 / Ownership
Hidden Here and its original software, design, narration, text, selection, and arrangement are owned by Hidden Here or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Source images and other third-party materials remain subject to their own licenses and credits.
We give you a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable right to use the service as intended. If you send feedback or corrections, you allow us to use them to improve Hidden Here without compensation or restriction.
08 / Third-party services
Hidden Here may include third-party maps, sources, photographs, services, and links. We do not control third-party content or practices. Your use of iOS, the App Store, maps, and linked services is also subject to the terms and policies of those providers.
09 / Availability and termination
We may add, remove, suspend, or change features and content. We may limit or end access if you violate these terms, create risk for other people, or interfere with the service. You may stop using Hidden Here at any time and may request account deletion through our support contact.
10 / Disclaimers and liability
Hidden Here is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about uninterrupted access, story accuracy, location accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.
To the extent permitted by law, Hidden Here will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses caused by your reliance on story content, location data, third-party services, or unsafe or unlawful use. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so these limits may not apply to you.
11 / Changes
We may update these terms as the service changes. We will revise the date at the top of this page and provide additional notice when appropriate. Continued use after updated terms take effect means you accept the updated terms.
